In 1991, STA. LUCIA REALTY & DEVELOPMENT saw the market potential of a shopping center in the East side of the metropolis. A multi- level building was built at the corner of Marcos Highway and Felix Avenue to answer the need for convenient one-stop shopping and recreation haven. 
The residents of Rizal and other nearby municipalities were treated to a wide selection of shopping destinations and entertainment facilities. Sta. Lucia East, Phase 1 was the first to house anchor stores in the area and the well-equipped theater in town. 
The result was astounding as loyal shoppers came flocking in, thus, in less than three years of operation, Phase 2 was constructed that boasted of better facilities, more specialty stores, service centers, additional cinemas, bowling center, a bigger Entertainment Plaza and junior Department Store was born. The success in sales and operations prepared Sta. Lucia East to join the ranks of other retail giants. The great dream was soon realized with the unveiling of Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Phase 3. 
The Phase 3 offered a bigger space and better facilities that can be compared with the best in Asia. A Supermarket, and Bowling centers and more cinemas completes the new mall. The expansion paved the way for a 17,000 square meter, 3-level, full line Department Store that houses the best brands in the retail industry. It is a haven of quality merchandise – apparels and accessories at very reasonable prices.

Special promotions such as Cosmetics Fair, Home Fair & Kids Fair are perennial events that offer great discounts and prizes. Shop ‘til you drop in the Quarterly 3-day sale where you can find the best bargains at unbelievable discounts became a much-awaited event. To be of further service to the growing need of the market, the House Ware & Toys sections of the Department Store evolved into specialty stores offering a wide variety of items to choose from. These are Home Gallery & Planet Toys, respectively. 
In 1996, HOME GALLERY opened its doors with the finest selection of charming but functional decors, furniture and appliance for people who want real home improvement. The Home Gallery is located at the Basement Level, Phase 1. The PLANET TOYS kicked off in 1997 with more famous brands to boast. Kids & toddlers and even parents will be delighted with loads of high quality toys and educational materials at great prices. This toy depot for the young and young at heart is located at the 4/L Phase 3. Likewise, in 1998, the Health & Beauty section transformed into a specialized store dubbed as SLE ESSENTIALS. One of the very first to house “new age” beauty essentials ranging from aroma therapy products, herbal and natural beauty and bath aids and great gift ideas. Step inside SLE Essentials at the 2/L, Phase 2 and find all your health and beauty must haves. And for the shopaholic, the Sta. Lucia East Gift Check is definitely a fine present you can give. Accepted at the Department Store and other affiliate stores like the Home Gallery, Planet Toys and Essentials, the SLE gift check is also honored at the Bowling Center and Supermarket.
